As longtime readers may know (do I have longtime readers?) my European Etsy Streetteam has a challenge running each week. This time Mitsy is the host and the theme she gave us is “cute”.
Cute!? I was shocked. I’m so NOT cute ….
But well, a challenge is a challenge. And while I was sitting on my desk, thinking about what I could do that is cute… I saw the little Maneki-neko I once bought from BN. Now if that’s not cute, I don’t know :)
I’ve heard about it. And I’ve seen “Steampunk” but not until yesterday I tried it for my work too. Am pleased with the result. Now I’m thinking about getting big keys and other metal stuff to attach it in some crazy ways :)
Of course Etsy has lot to offer when it comes to Steampunk:
Hulk, Zombie and Executioner joined the gang today. They are prepared now to take care of unexpected visitors. Yeah! Maybe you thought I’m a nice girl. I’m not. I’m as dangerous as my mice. Wuahahahaaa!!! *holding flashlight unter her chin*
But don’t worry, there are a lot of nice Mice too. I really ask you to go and look at Annas “The House Of Mouse“ shop. You’ll find the right Mouse for everyone. And just in case you need something not in her shop yet, just ask her about it. She’s a really nice (not like me) girl and I’m sure if it’s possible, she’ll make the Mouse of your Dreams!
So far I can say that it’s fun and easy to work with. I’m making a big mess while at it but that’s part of the fun. My only problem: I have very small stones but rather clumsy tools. I need either bigger stones or finer tools. Or both. That would of course be the best solution! And while we’re at it - a bigger studio so I can devote a corner for that mess only. Hehee… :)
I’m still making books, though. Here are the two latest. Not sure yet wether they will go into my Etsy or the Dawanda shop …
I wish I’d have more sisters travelling the world and bringing back goodies for me :)

I could not resist, I’ve seen beautiful things made from soapstone and as it’s a rather cheap thing, I had to give it a try. The stone is very soft and can be worked with saws, riffles and such. In the end its sanded and polished with that oil. Only then the stone will show it’s true color. Like the little beach stones I always collect, they looks so wonderful while wet - and all sad and grey when dried.
Now if only I could make free time to play with it …
Just came back from money spending. Look at these wonderful leathers I got. Yep, there is purple in there too! Heheheee… I see purple pleasures coming.
But now I better get busy or my expenses will be more than my income in the end …
What’s really missing here is a Winter Tree. Suddenly we have 10° or something. I was looking forward to autumn and now it’s winter. From hot to cold. Nothing inbetween. I really hope it does not stay this way. Autumn is my favorite season ….
Gosh! How time flies! It’s Saturday again?!
I was busy painting wood for the new roof that we started last week. Boring, boring, boring. But even more boring was painting the fence outside. The first time I did it with a brush and shiny black paint. Took me the whole day and looked awful! Second time I used one of this little rollers (not sure what’s it called in english) and dull black paint. Much better! And so much faster!
Well, another lesson learned…
So, this evening I’ll spend with another way of painting. On fabric. Have already prepared four pieces and will start playing with the colors now. Much more fun! :)
