Only a few days …

Soon I’ll spend two weeks on vacation. We will discover Cyprus this time. I have to say, the idea of driving on the left side of the street makes me a bit nervous. I don’t plan to ever drive by myself there, nope :)
Otherwise, nothing really exciting is happening in my life. Just the usual stuff. I get even more buttons in the mail and have to make journals to use them up.

My Flowers

This weeks challenge theme is “My Flowers”. I spent a nice afternoon painting flowers. And now I don’t know which of these I’ll make my challenge journal from.  Should it be the dancing flowers? Or the one talking with clouds? The alien ones maybe? Or the swirls?

1384.jpgUpdate: The Alien Flower made it! Thanks for your input!

And to see what my team-mates made for this flower challenge check out Karuski’s Blog.

How to become a sucessfull Etsy Seller?

From time to time I’m asked this question. I really don’t think I’m that sucessful, but I always do my best in answering. But as it’s always the same I have to say, I’ll make it a blogpost now so in the future, I simply can point people to it. So, here is all my wisdom:

How to become a sucessfull online seller? I wish there would be a great mysterious secret thing that makes it happen. But alas, if it exists, I don’t know. All I can tell you are things you’ve probably heard and read over and over already.

Photos: Do them the best you can. Use good lightning. If possible, show every angle and side of your product. Don’t let people guess how the backside of something may look like. Show it! Unless a “real store”, your customers can’t take the product in their hands and check it out, that’s why photos are so important. Simply show that you don’t have anything to hide :)

Price: Think about your price, calculate your materials, your time and your overhead costs. Find a realistic price and stuck with it. Only you can know what it takes to create your products. There has to be a profit in the end, right?

Your product: Do it the best you can! Test it. Try it. Have other people testing it. Be true about it. Don’t ever stop to make it better.

Customer support: Simple, do the best you can. People are spending their hard earned money for the things you make. Show them that it’s worth it.

Shipping and packing: Let your customers know when you will ship their order. And also when they can expect it to arrive. Take care in good packaging so everything will arrive safe and sound.

Now you are all ready for world domination. Go and spread the word. If you are a shy person like me (hehehe… yep I am) do it at least in the virtual world. Make a flickr account, start a blog, twitter… anything that makes people curious about what you do.

And on Etsy - the one thing you can and should do to be visible, list or renew at least once a day.

Good luck! :)

My Workspace

2200.jpg

Estella asked for workspace photos for her “Little Sister” blog series. So here it is, fresh photo made right now. Yeah! Lucky me did a bit of organising and I’ve been lazy since then. Usually, it’s even more cluttered.
But enough about me - check out Estellas blog to see other workspaces

Two in a row!

Two happy mailbox days in a row for me! Ahh… life should always be like this! :)
Unfortunately, it isn’t. And that’s why I so wanted this little feeling from fabulous artist Mitsy Sleurs aka Artmind. It’s “Free”. And look, I even got the number one!
I wanted it to remind me in my dark hours that come what wants, I still am free in my mind and I am still free to feel good, even when not everything  is how I want it to be.
Well, what can I say. I love it. I knew I would so - no surprise here. And I hope it’s only the first of many feelings I will collect.

My very own Olive Tree

Looks what Mr. Postman just brought me. My very own Olive Tree. From Greece. I’m deeply in love!
1379.jpg

But let’s have a closer look:
2197.jpg
It was an entry for my tree challenge and I just had to have it. I only visited Greece once, but the two weeks I spent on Crete where one of the most beautiful holidays I ever had. This tree will remind me.

Thanks Psarokokalo (= fishbone in greek) for that wonderful work.  Make more of these, I’m sure they would sell! :)

Happy Birthday!

I know three people who celebrate his/her birthday today. One in Austria, one in France and one in Brazil. May you all have a wonderful day! The best is yet to come :)

1378.jpg
I illlustrate this post with a playful journal I made (and sold) yesterday. Though I like it, it’s not exactly the style I like to do most. But they seem to sell and - as a girl has to eat, I’ll probably make more of these in the future.
And now I do NOT want to hear any comments about my eating habits! Hehehe….

Time Flies

1376.jpgThis is my entry for the new “Time Flies” challenge. First I was thinking clocks, flying clock hands and such - but then it suddenly struck me. Yes, I think I found a clever way to show how Time Flies. Maybe it’s just me, though :)2196.jpg
Will list it in my Etsy Shop soon, but first I have to make one in other colors. Don’t know why, but I was always drawn to that golden colored suede lately. So, just to have other colors here too, I like to show off the new (for me) “Birds on the Wire” designs with which I experimented lately.
