Look what I can do with my sewing machine

And even if you give me a lot of money, I could not do it again. No idea how that happend!? But well, I was able to get the thread out there and she does work again.

Update! Think I know what happened. I was winding up thread and  forgot to switch to “needle don’t move while I do that”. With no bobbin in there, the thread just wrapped itself around there…Well, lesson learned :D

2nd Update! I also can do more useful things. Made a pencil roll. My first ever. And probably also my last one. Hehehe…

A travelling journal!

I got news from the travelling chandelier journal. Marie just sent me photos and news about it: “Just yesterday it went with me on a training run at Point Lobos State Reserve (California). Here it is back at the entrance after I ran the perimeter. ”

So cool! I really envy my work for getting around that much! I’m happy that Marie bought it back then but … I would not mind if she would take ME to cool places instead! Hehehe… I could not keep up with her running, though :D

Fun with visitors!

I had visitors from far away here. Kerrin, one of the girls from our EST team on Etsy is on a trip from Portugal all over Europe. I was lucky that she changed plans last minute and was therefore able to also give me a visit with her lovely kids. Coming from Mitsy aka Artmind in Hasselt, Belgium, she went straight away all the way to Austria where they finally arrived one hour after mignight. But who would have thought it, after a rest of only 7 hours they where all up and running in good spirits again. What an adventurous family they are!

Kerrins is such a warm, pleasant and easy going girl, I instantly felt good in her company. Even though I don’t really like to speak english and always feel stupid when I have to do it. And the kids - what can I say. They are absolutely adorable and it was such a joy to see them running around in the garden and having fun with the sprinkler! :D

I lost my camera to the kids as soon as I made one picture so - here are some impression from their stay seen from the kids eyes.

Dear Santa, …

Are you an early shopper for christmas? I’m trying to build stock for the coming christmas shoppers. Last year I had people tell me in september that they are already shopping for christmas. Yes. Some people are organized, oh boy! :)

I’m not much into christmas for myself, but of course it’s a good season for me in my shops. So far, I have one journal in stock. All others are listed in either the Dawanda or Etsy shop. Well, one has to start somewhere …

Anyway. IF you are one of the early birds, I picked some great things that could go onto your shopping list, don’t you think?

Burtonesque

My entry for the challenge “Tim Burton Style Gothic Fantasy”. Yes, what a theme, right? Heheh… first I had no idea what to do, but when I started to collect the materials, it all came together. And I have to say, I’m really pleased with the result.

A travelling journal!

I already told you, I have the best customers ever. Yes!!
And I can prove it. Just got such a lovely message, but read for yourself:

“You probably don’t recall me however you may recognize the journal you custom made for me. I know as a crafter, it’s nice to sometimes know where you’re artwork has traveled so I thought I’d drop you a line to show you where the journal has been! It’s most current adventure took it to a Disneyland Event in Anaheim, California this past weekend. Here it is at breakfast. :-} Hope all is well!”

Now isn’t that sweet! Gave me such a boost, I’m still floating some centimeters above my chair! :)

Back from Nürnberg

As I’ve been there often already, not much photos where made this time.
You’ll have to go and see for yourself. The city is worth a visit!
It was great to see hubbys part of the family again, we had a good time together with lots of fun and to much “Schäufele” I fear… :)

My oldest addiction

Books are my oldest addiction. I did not grow up in a house with books. In fact, I was a bit that “strange” kid that wanted books for birthdays and such. Well, but maybe that’s why I still value books where high. And whenever the postman gives me an Amazon package, it’s like birthday for me! :)
This time I got Karl Blossfeldt, The Complete Published Work. A wonderful source of inspiration this one will be! “The Arrival” is a fantastic graphic novel from Shaun Tan. It’s wonderful. And the two from Jasper Fforde -  they look used but are brand new - I’ve heard good things about. They will serve me well on the little trip to Germany the next days.
