My creative process

1621.jpgOr - from Sun to Brain Cell.
I had my share on blog interviews. And most of the time the question “Tell us about your creative process” came up. I never had a good answer for that. It’s just what happens …
But well, today I made this book. I started with the idea to draw a sun. You know, one of this nice, baroque ones. With a smiling face and all that stuff. So I made a cirle and the “halo” around it. While I filled that my brain somehow jumped in and told me to make that little dots.
Okay, so next step where the eyes. But as the dots made it look somehow “technic”, I decided to make real circles instead of almond shaped forms for the eyes. And at that point, things went into a totally different direction …
What I had in the end didn’t look anything like what I had planned when I started. It looked more like one of my (obviously) crazy brain cells.
Yep. There you have it, my creative process. I’m glad we finally discussed that.

Seldom things end up the way I planned it in my mind. Sometimes the results is better…sometimes worse.

Your new journal looks great :)

That’s funny, but of course, that’s how things go… you start with an idea, and then it takes a life of its own and runs away with it, and you don’t know what happened! ;)

I love how it turned out, I think it is even more interesting this way, somewhat abstract and mysterious… like a drawing found in a hidden cave that must mean something! It’s great that you let the inspiration run wild, that’s why each book comes out so unique :)
